HCA COVID-19 Compliance Regulations

for the 2020-2021 School Year

1. Classes will be held 5 days a week from 8:00am to 3:15pm. (Our student population is just over 50.)

2. No masks or gloves are required. If a parent sends a high risk child to school with a mask, we will wear one while helping them at their desk.

3. If a child has a fever, or other COVID-19 symptoms, they must remain home.

4. If a child comes in contact with someone with the virus, they must self-quarantine for two weeks.

5. Parents must pick up their children, if requested by the school due to illness.

6. Parents and all visitors will wait in the school office when picking up their children or entering the school for any reason.

7. If a child develops a fever during school, they will wait in the Ladies Study room until parental pick up.

8. Extra focus will be added to disinfecting the school.

9. Students will be required to use hand sanitizer, when they arrive at school and at the end of each break before returning to their desks.

10. Signs regarding proper hand washing and social distancing will be posted.

11. Windows will be cracked open during warmer weather to provide airflow through the classrooms.

12. Air filters will be changed regularly and air purifiers will be set up.

13. Hand sanitizer will be required at each student’s desk and will be available throughout the school, as well.

14. Temperatures will be checked at the door each morning.

15. The dividers in each room will serve as physical barriers between students in the classroom.

16. Students will be encouraged to avoid physical contact.

17. If a student or staff member becomes infected with COVID-19, we will not report it to the public. 

      However, it must be reported to the CDC according to the law.

18. We will consult with the Norton Health Department to be sure Norton is not a COVID-19 hot spot. 

      If it becomes one, we will increase our preventative measures accordingly.

19. No staff is permitted to work with a fever or unexplained persistent cough.

20. Junior/Senior food preparations will cease until the COVID-19 threat has subsided. They will instead order and sell pizza. 

      Gloves and masks will be worn while distributing the food.

21. Each student is to have their own school supplies as sharing will be discouraged.

22. Field trips will be limited to pre-approved locations that do not require tight quarters or grouping.

23. School transportation required for large events will rely on parent drivers to avoid tight grouping of students.

24. There will be no drinking fountains. Students are required to bring in their own water bottle or containers.

      Cups will not be provided by the school.

25. Food sharing will be discouraged.

26. Food for school functions will be purchased and served while wearing masks and gloves.

27. The school will designate a COVID-19 point of contact. All families will be informed of the designated person before school starts.
