Our Mission at HCA
Our Mission at HCA
Hametown Christian Academy has been designed to be an extension of the Christian home and church in training up a child in the way he should go (Proverbs 22:6) and in obedience to the Scriptural imperative to love the Lord with all their heart, soul, and might. (Deuteronomy 6:5-7).
"And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children..."

We are here to work with the home - not take the place of the parents.

Student Enrollment Numbers and Student-Teacher Ratio:
Due to our commitment to small class sizes and a low student-to-teacher ratio—currently 4 to 1—designed to foster a close-knit, discipleship-focused environment, our current enrollment is 51 students. To maintain this standard of personal attention and community, we are intentionally limiting our student body to no more than 80 students in any given year.

Regarding Staff Members:
First and foremost, each professional staff member is a born-again Christian committed to the task of equipping each child with a quality, well-rounded education that is Christ-honoring and aligns with the students abilities and interests to best serve them in battlefield of life after graduating highschool.
All staff members are interviewed by the Principal, approved by the school board, and vetted by references and an FBI/BCI background check to ensure they align with our mission, standards and values.

Staff members have regular discussions with the Principal to discuss on-going staff development as well as school, staff and student relations, involvment and progress. Furthermore, each Teacher-of-Record is qualified by having at least a Bachelor’s Degree and holding licensure/certification through the State of Ohio. We will also do a licensure check through the Educator Profile on the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce website.
While the students are in Opening every morning, all staff members have their own collective meeting. This meeting is not only a time to hear news and discuss daily goals; it serves three key purposes:
1. To specifically pray for every child by name and any other prayer requests.
2. To recenter ourselves as a unified body working towards the same mission, goals and purpose.
3. To participate in on-going professional development, discussions and exercises.
